A little off-topic, but I need to put a message about La La Land Records.
I made a new interview with a great musician having frequently worked for Morricone (it will be transcribed and published in "Maestro" #19, hopefully next Summer). Indeed the Italian credits on CDs and films are often sparse and incomplete about the solists, a pity.

One of his identifications of his works regards a future edition by La La Land: "Two Mules for Sister Sara".
A week ago, I sent a message to the label through its website, since I supposed it is a nice information to accompany the CD.

I didn't receive a reply yet. At least, I hope that the label will use the information. I ask nothing else and delivered it freely.

Writer/Director/Actor James Gunn has been expressing disappointment that he wasn't made aware that La-La Land Records was working on a Blu-ray release of 'The Specials'. Any reason why he was left out of the loop?

Hi,

as I understood it the upcoming Volume 4 of The X-Files soundtrack will be last box set? I have all the previous box sets and I would like it if there will be an autographed version available once again.

Furthermore I would like to propose the idea of multiple people signing the box sets. For example Chris Carter, David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson, Mark Snow, Mitch Pileggi,... You get a random autograph for each box you buy, if you buy two box set you will get 2 random autographs, if you buy 3 box set you get 3 random autographed box sets and so on...

So, If someone wants to collect all autographed copies they have to buy multiple box sets. I would like the idea very much.

I will definitely buy the new box when it will be released but I would also pay more if it is possible to have two or more signatures on one box-set.

For example two signatures per box for like $120-$150 or 3 signatures for $180-$240, 5 or 6 signatures for $400/$500... For an collector that would be really great :-)

Not sure if that is possible?

I never understood the appeal the appeal of having an actor, who 99% of the time had absolutely nothing to do with the score, sign your soundtrack.

And considering we have a pandemic going on, it's probably a logistical nightmare get one person sign a copy, let alone several.

With that logic, you wonder why they didn't get Nichelle Nichols* or George Takei or the Shat to sign some editions of the TOS box set....
*Who actually has a track on the set!

He wasn't left out nor was his brother. However at the time of production he had other matters on hand he was dealing with that let's just say were far more important to his career or salvaging it than participating in a blu ray release of a 20 year old film.

No...not even if there wasnt a pandemic would this even be a viable thing to do.

Any possible avatar change in the near future with a possible John Williams expanded release? I'd love to see a colonial-themed monkey for The Patriot, or a pirate-theme for Hook, etc... wink

Dear MV,

What are the odds La La Land will release an expanded Event Horizon and Toto's DUNE within the next 18 months?

MV, Jeff Bond hinted there was enough music for a volume 2 of "Voyage to Bottom of Sea" if vol. 1 sells out.

Given your comments here about sales -

can you produce fewer units in order to sell out quicker? Or would this also mean upping the price and probably slowing sales, thus defeating the purpose? I guess $60 for 4-cd is probably a max, given existing price ranges: $20-$22 for 1 cd; $24-$30 for 2 cd.

I was thinking 750 units might be an easy sell-out goal than 1000. Varese steadily lowered the number of units per volume of their HITCHCOCK HOUR releases. But that would mean bumping up the price to $80 if you wanted the same total sales figure.

Hi MV,
I remember reading in a thread that tapes of the Dean Elliott's score for Return to the Planet of the Apes TV series existed.
Is it something you're planning to release some day?

I'd buy that for 80.00$! Bring it on LaLaLand. Thanks again for making this dream a reality. smile

Edit: How is the set selling, if I may ask?
