Dear La La Land: Is there any way you can give some clues to some non Star Trek releases that may be coming out in the months ahead? Something to give us something to look forward. Right now, it's an awfully dry period of time for release news. ----jthree They've given out loads of hints in other threads, you just have to read them! For example, 1970s Wonder Woman TV series set, a stack of DC titles, The Great Race, an Alex North title, a Franz Waxman twofer, and maybe, just maybe, the delayed first X-Men film, although the never-ending stream of new X-Men films at the cinema might still be causing a problem or two. I suspect there's some Williams and Goldsmith in there as well.

We'll be sending over the track listing to post on one of the Trek Websites soon. In the meantime, our plan over the next 18 months for Trek is as follows: DS9 Volume 2 - 3rd qtr 2017 Voyager Volume 2 - 1st qtr 2018 Unknown Trek Collection featuring: Disc 1 - TNG - leftovers Disc 2 - DS9 - leftovers Disc 3 - Voyager - leftovers Disc 4 - Enterprise - leftovers Probably by Summer 2018 we will be saying our final goodbye to Trek. I think roughly after 9 cds from each series we will have covered just about all the amazing music from this incredible Universe...unless we decide to do something crazy like Season by Season Box sets! lol LLAP, MV Fantastic news!! And yes, while I know you're joking with the "Season by Season" Box sets comment, let me be the first to assure you I WOULD PURCHASE EVERY SINGLE ONE.

It's great to read that there is still a possibility that a 4th TNG set will eventually reach us since there are still some fan favourites missing. What a great time it is to be a ST and a film score fan!

I don't quite get the "not everyone cares about" argument. Of course that's the case, just as not everyone cares about the particular tracks that appeal to you. The 50th Anniversary release was meant to be a wide-ranging compilation. Some grumbled about having to get "Next Generation" music along with their original series cues, and they used the "not everyone cares about" argument, too. Of course not everyone cares. I think if the labels tried to somehow adhere to a policy of avoiding things "not everyone cares about," these releases would cease to exist. (For what it's worth, the Chattaway "Experience" cue is one of the highlights of that set to me.) I agree the Experience stuff is actually good in its own right, but in my mind, that and the video games should have been released already (speaking of which isn't there already a ST:Borg OST out there already?), in order to let the 50th Anniversary set focus on stuff from the various series. I also do question the inclusion (or should I say re-inclusion) of the TOS stuff. It was already released in that big box set they did a while back; yes, I heard that they found new and better source material, but the answer to that would be to release a new standalone set, slash the price to $29.99, and let that be that. They've done TOS, again, and again, and again, and in my book they should've focused more on VOY and DS9, since those have gotten the least attention over the years.

Please please please, focus on the shows themselves with the future releases. Nope. You obviously missed the point of the entire release. MV

As has been specified 2 voyager volumes are coming out and another ds9 is coming. MV And I, for one, can't wait to get them! Voyager has always been one of my favorites. Thanks for releasing these and all the Star Trek series. BTW, I loved the 50th Anniversary set!

tnpir4002, if you're very new to the board you can be forgiven for not knowing this: The 50th Anniversary collection was announced early last year, and fan requests were specifically solicited. I should know, as I was one of the two people who organized the fan suggestions into a spreadsheet for Lukas. It was ALWAYS going to be a "grab bag" release, an excuse for putting out stuff like Star Trek: The Experience which honestly wouldn't have a clear place on any other collection. For weird source music rarities. For trailer music. For the TMP alternate mix and TWOK epilogue sans narration. At the time it was planned as a three disc set, and The Animated Series was going to get its own release. Presumably when it was discovered that TAS music was just a little over half an hour, it was incorporated into the set, making it four discs with more than half a disc of extra space. Star Trek: Borg fit I guess, and it had never had an official release before, only a composer promo. Think of it as a bonus. Personally I think it's got some cool Dennis McCarthy thematic writing and was worthy of official treatment. I guess I have some sympathy for those who complain about having to buy the disc of TOS stuff which "should" have been included on the massive and expensive complete TOS collection. But that was as definitive as it could be at this time, and this material discovered after. I can understand why Lukas included it on this set, because 1) it was a 50th Anniversary celebration so should have some representation of the original Trek, and 2) more people would have had to complain about buying a separate release just to get "what should have been on the TOS box in the first place". It's similar to LLL taking the opportunity to include an improved Batman on their Danny Elfman collection reissue. It was either get it that way or not get the improved sound at all, I think. I know which I prefer. And of course VOY and DS9 will get more of their requests honored on upcoming Vol. 2 sets. Maybe LLL will even consider third volumes for each show *if* the sales are still there...they reconsidered TNG Vol. 2 after all, that that show was quite well represented already. Yavar
