These people obviously ain't happy in their personal lives or are carrying some inner demons that forbids them from dropping their childish shtick.

I’m very happy in my personal life, thank you, Kev.

Im not happy in my personal life but i have no inner demons (well, one maybe, who usually shows up on friday nights if i get the chanting right!). big grin

I will say that this is somewhat toxic place but Filmtracks has by far the most vile "score-related" discussion board on the net (a very unique and real niche apparently).

My ignore list is certainly more robust than ever these days. Half of this thread doesn’t even show up for me, and I’m ok with that.

I've resisted doing that but maybe I should reconsider. My only question is, when you put someone on the ignore list, does it sometimes make threads hard to follow? Or do conversations/threads still pretty much make sense?

I just see their awful grammar and redundant rambling quoted by other posters.
It makes things much easier to follow.

Nobody from our beloved Footy Thread was in the line of fire in my opening rant (so wind your neck in Chris) wink

At least his are worth reading.

His ability to properly use periods is also a bonus.

Given your own post counts -- including 194(?) posts to one thread "Stupid Questions Thread - no answers required" -- it's also fair to assume you have more than enough time on your hands.

I'm actually more ' offended' by Watts overlong posts.
It's presumptuous for.him to expect time.strapped.FSMers.to stop.everything they are doing, and.spend up to a half hour digesting his latest epic!

Once again you take my posts literally.
Are.you a cyborg?

Against my better judgement, I opened up the board again today to see if another thread had finally been taken back behind a woodshed. Unfortunately it hadn’t, but I did see this one.

I briefly reconsidered my decision to walk away from this board but then realized it was the right choice. Adding people to your ignore list doesn’t change the fact that the moderating team is okay with this kind of toxicity and the same bunch of old dudes jerking each other off about how un-PC they are. Fantastic. So brave.

Joan mentioned briefly in another thread that we shouldn’t let these toxic users have control over us and drive us off of here. In my case it was the opposite. Even being on here and watching how vile this place has become made me like film music somehow less. This is something that I have been passionate about since I was 12 and I’m not going to let something as silly as red pillers on a message board ruin my love for a thing.

I’ve been around for 13 years and I know I’ve never been the most active user but it really is time to walk away. Maybe I’ll be back in another 13 years when the worst elements of this board have been carted off to a nursing home. Or maybe the mods will step in before then.

Here’s to hoping.

This actually just happened in the Bad Boys 3 thread. A few of us were saying we were looking forward to hearing Mancina's themes again and out of no where someone came in to complain about what they're expecting the score to sound like and bashing the composer's previous efforts. It's annoying.

Sometimes people who complain about "p.c." are just supporting freedom of express, I.e. ARTISTIC freedom.

Funny how the "righteous" side cant carry on an conversation without personal attacks and insults. Then claim the other side are toxic.

Maybe it's just me, but lately, it feels like this board has completely gone to shit.
There are some posters who don't start threads or celebrate threads at all, but feel compelled to constantly contribute (?) within threads, but add nothing but negativity, sarcasm or sour grapes.
They generally don't have an opinion on the topic being discussed, but side track it with sarky or pithy comments just to try and rile someone else in the thread.
They also bang on about the same thing over and over, like we haven't heard it from them before, or haven't become bored shitless by their constant droning rhetoric.
It's really beginning to get old now and I've noticed some other posters beginning to get tired of the whole shebang.
Such a pity.
These people obviously ain't happy in their personal lives or are carrying some inner demons that forbids them from dropping their childish shtick.

You aren't the only one who noticed this. This is why I rarely post here these days. Too many members especially some of the "elder" members have their heads too far up their arses and think they're above everyone else and knows more than you.

This board has become toxic and I rarely visit let alone post on it because of it.

No. You're then toxic!
Wanker!
