and, I'd like to mention ... as I want ...full CD releases of these easy-listening (film music related) albums ... odd tracks have appeared on CD, except for *, as far as I know:
Big Western Movie Themes, Vol.II (1971) - Geoff Love
If it comes to that, where's Geoff Love's Big Western Movie Themes Volume III (which includes Wild Rovers and is probably the only time he covered Jerry Goldsmith)? Could Dutton Vocalion put both Vol 2 and 3 togeher on a CD? I would buy that instantly.
Richard Rodney Bennett: Nicholas and Alexandra Quincy Jones: Cactus Flower Quincy Jones: Bob & Caol & Ted & Alice Howard Blake: An Elephant Called Slowly
So what's in your LP collection that hasn't been re-released yet as a CD? Not much left in my collection.A lot has been covered....
THE LONG DUEL John Scott SHALAKO Robert Farnon THE STING II Lalo Schifrin MURDERERS ROW Lala Schifrin THE HOT ROD Quincy Jones IN LOVE FOR IVY Quincy Jones SHAFT IN AFRICA Johnny Pate THE SOUL OF NIGGER CHARLEYDan Costa 8 ON THE LAM George Romanis
The Philips lp release of Goodbye Emmanuelle (Serge Gainsbourg) and Las Vegas, 500 millones (Georges Garvarentz), plus the contents on the Festival FY ep of L'ape regina (Teo Usuelli) have not made it to cd yet.
I've got Shaft In Africa on an out of print CD from Rhino. If I remember it was one of their limited editions with a small pressing. It's in a cardboard replica of the LP jacket with no notes etc. So not a wide release.
Isn't most of the SHAFT IN AFRICA album included on a CD called THE BEST OF SHAFT?
