Huh? Aren’t the Scream films themselves rather more comedic?
Yavar
They are indeed. But the Ready or Not humor is a bit too over the top to be used in a Scream movie, imo. It wasnt serious at all. At least thats how I felt while watching it. (maybe for Scream 3, lol)
Huh, for me the comedy in the Scream films is even more overt than in Ready or Not. But they share a sort of black humor, so getting the Ready or Not team on a Scream film actually makes a lot of sense. I'm looking forward to it. And I'll be surprised if Brian Tyler doesn't reference the thoroughly established franchise theme(s). He did on the Rambo and Final Destination sequels he scored (and maybe others?)
I do love the comedy in the Scream films (well, most of it). But once Ghostface calls or shows up things get dead serious and thrilling. Whereas in Ready or Not, even the suspense scenes were comedic. Snarky puns and comments while fighting etc. It has more of a "superhero comedy" humor, which is something I dont want to see in a Scream movie.
None of my points includes Scream 3 though. Which really was comedic all the way. Kinda like Ready or Not, lol
Sooooo excited for this!! But I have actually NOT seen the trailer yet. So proud of myself! lol!
I've decided to know as little as possible this time. I knew way too much about Scream 4 with analyzing all pictures, trailers, teasers etc so I felt like I already knew everything about the movie before I saw it. Not this time

I'd really thought their days of releasing soundtracks from studio movies on the regular were in their rear view once every studio decided, 'Hey, why farm these scores out to other labels? Let's make our own studio arms to release them.' Digital or not, this is encouraging.
Just read this on the film music reporter website…
Varese Sarabande will release a new box set featuring the original scores from the first four installments in the Scream series. Marco Beltrami (Logan, A Quiet Place, Ford v. Ferrari, 3:10 to Yuma, World War Z, The Wolverine, The Hurt Locker) has composed the original music for all four movies. The 6-Disc set features the content of the label’s Scream & Scream 2 Deluxe Editions on the first two discs, as well as the composer’s expanded score from Scream 3 and Scream 4 on the third, fourth and fifth disc. The sixth disc features previously unreleased music from all films, as well as alternates and demo cues.
