Would be nice if MB would do at least one concert work (larger forces, since I think there is some chamber piece out there?), before hanging it up.
Thank you, I will have a view! Not to derail this thread more, but I'll see this as a truce, as I ran my mouth, yet again, and didn't mean to rile anyone up.
"World's Collide" sounds like it's plucked from CUTTHROAT ISLAND. Just these 30 seconds are already blowing away that embarrassing BLACK ADAM score. It's nice to hear textural comic book music in a DC movie again.
Well, shit....you guys keep saying CUTTHROAT, and how amma supposed to feel about that??
Joyeux, a 90s symphonic treasure (albeit Temp Fu Heaven...shame, Debney! The Rocketeer called, wants his jet pack back....) has 15th gen emerged in this thanklessly soulless era.
Should we applaud, TRUMPETS & meter beyond Zimmer have re-emergeged? Or...get the razor's out?

As someone who has adored Cutthroat Island for 28 years, I don’t hear anything similar other than the fact that it’s an orchestra with horns and strings and drums. Sounds far more like Elfman to my ears, which would make sense given the Batman connection. And credit where credit is due, Balfe composed several fun themes for Black Adam that stood out.
I was surprised by how much I didn't mind this. I may be getting bored with this sound, but it seems richer than most of these can be. I'll give the whole thing a listen when it is available.
Has Ezra Miller seen any court time for their multiple felonies and other crimes against the victims? Warner Bros. really "fixed" this one up really well. I imagine if it plays decently at the box office (people only seem interested in Batman, another sly move by WB marketing) then Miller will attest to the "power of rehab." Then if it is a relative bomb (people only seem interested in Batman, not a positive sign for a movie about another flagship DC character), Miller will likely be blacklisted from Hollywood.
Hence why Batman and #NotMySupergirl* are on the poster strategically behind and above him as if distract attention from the title character...
That's been a common thought of mine with so many Wallfisch scores: his "sound" is flat. I found it interesting that his own first reveals of these tracks was showing us just a screen of a digital mixing station. I know we are in the year 2023 and this is commonplace for music production, period, but you do miss the days when a reveal would be a type of music video or even footage of the contracted orchestra performing.
I wished they had brought Elfman back. Batman and Flash together? both with themes by him, it would had been the perfect choice, but not for the producers of course
At least this is the first confirmation (that I'm aware of at least) that I will sit in that theatre and hear Elfman's theme and have Keaton on screen. Still optimistically looking forward to it.... cautiously
Anyone else hear a tiny element of Goldenthal in that "I am Batman" track? Weird little moment.

The director posted a couple of videos of the scoring sessions on his Insta. You could hear snippets of the Elfman theme there as well
