The movie is entertaining in a low-key way and it’s disheartening how much all of it looks the same. Like at this point CG is pre-packaged and you don’t really need people to make new stuff, just get the preexisting CG package templates to work. Anyway, you’re hearing it here first but I think they should just make movies based on their rides and ripped off from Humphrey Bogart films. Like “Thunder Mountain Railroad” starring The Rock as a take on “Treasure of the Sierra Madre”. Like, The Rock is in a bar, all washed up, in a town called Thunder Mountain, and it’s after the Gold Rush has died down and the town is in dire straits and Emily Blunt shows up because her father used to work a gold mine that dried up and he went broke and she’s the daughter who wants to be a teacher and build a school but doesn’t have the money, who inherited this empty gold mine and The Rock runs some podunk little mine cart train from the early mining days and takes her on a ride up to the crummy old abandoned mine of her father’s. Then they discover hidden riches in the mine, some old treasure maps from her father, The Rock sees a way to pay off his gambling debts and drink tab at the bar and Blunt sees a way to build the school she always wanted because she’s a teacher, and that’s her arc. And then after a mine cart chase that rips off Temple of Doom the movie slides into a cool 50% on Rotten Tomatoes and Disney moves on to the next ride, “The Matterhorn”… starring The Rock in lederhosen… in a take on The Sound of Music…

That story is Disney‘s next summer blockbuster ;-)

I'm not attracted to the movie and this music has no real appeal for me though it probably works fine in the film. Probably ideal for a theme park ride. I prefere the JNH of Intersection, Grand Canyon, Alive, Unbreakable, I am Legend etc.

Played Ant's recommendations: …lacks thematic continuity… Yup. …mickey-mousey… Yup. Probably ideal for a theme park ride. Yup. And … 3 strikes and you're out!!! NP: The Aviator (1985) It's been a while. And, blimey, I'd forgotten how Frontiere stepped up to the plate and slammed "Crash No. 2" over the stadium. This is what you call top notch orchestral writing. So he's wrong and you're right...?! That's a bit presumptuous. I'll decide myself whether I like it or not, thank you very much.
