This is a comments thread about FSM CD: The Swimmer |
|
 |
Very few people seem to be aware that the Grindhouse blu-ray/dvd combo release contains an isolated score. It's not even mentioned as one of the extras on the case.

Is the Grindhouse CD perhaps the original LP, which FSM expanded for its release?

Incidentally, since this thread has been recently revived, I should mention what I believe I've mentioned on another thread, that I participated in a podcast about THE SWIMMER which I think some of you may find enlightening, in part because I refer to (and sometimes correct) the BluRay documentary. https://www.stitcher.com/podcast/the-projection-booth/e/51284023

Looking forward to Preston's book on The Swimmer. Hopefully the typesetter will not follow the ee cummings style that Preston has dazzled us with here. This dazzling style? mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjj

I agree with you Zelig. But you didn't even mention the man who's made you happy - Marvin Hamlisch. Well, as Henry Mancini once said, "Did they mention the music?" And I did. Marvin Hamlisch composed a masterwork his first time "at bat"! This thread has 199 views...c'mon people, comment! Orchestrations by Leo Shuken and Jack Hayes helped considerably. Jack Hayes conducted. I have the LP which Jack signed for me.
