Off set by their high shipping costs. Still probably better taking advantage of MM low shipping rates.
For what it is worth, I just placed an order and the discount covered the shipping and then some, so if you are ordering from the U.S. it is still a better deal to order directly from La-La Land. Plus, they are CDs I wanted anyway, so the 21% discount is a great deal for me.
I'm thrilled that I was finally able to order this one. I just re-watched the movie for the first time in years this past Monday. It holds up pretty well for the most part, though I don't think it would be half as effective if it weren't for Horner's contribution. When Casper and Kat go to the lighthouse, the movie takes a turn of the best kind, and Horner aids the tonal shift beautifully.
I've never seen Casper nor heard the score apart from a few samples online, but I've been on a Horner kick lately, so I ordered this expanded LLL presenation along with a few others (new LLL Sneakers and the Intrada releases of Jumanji and The Land Before Time). Also planning to add How the Grinch Stole Christmas to my gift exchange wish list. I may need to invest in a blood glucose monitor!
I also found this little gem on the tube when searching for sound samples of Casper:

Based on your advice I took advantage of LLL's last sale and indeed saved some bucks!

I really didn't warm up to the OST. It has some beautiful themes and of course the inspired Seahawk (?) action piece but a lot of it sounded rather Mickey Mousey to me. I like the expanded edition a lot more and Ive warmed up to the sections I was lukewarm about before. I play it quite often.
If you even remotely like Horner this isn't one to skip out on. Sort of similar to Honey I Shrunk the Kids and The Pagemaster, its a mix of madcap jazz, amazing action licks, and in this case, one of the most utterly heart-wrenching themes Horner ever wrote in the form of Casper's Lullaby. Of course, there's no denying it has temp-track-bleed-itis from The Nightmare Before Christmas.
