Hi Folks,

The FSM Superman box set is sold out—fortunately the four feature scores have been released separately by La-La Land and I highly recommend them!

Due to circumstances too stupid to go into...I ended up with several boxes of extra books for our box set. Each box has a hundred-something books.

I gave away some of these to our Indiegogo contributors (for my sci-fi short film) last year. I'm happy to do that again, except I'm not set up to mail them (they are quite heavy and expensive to mail, especially overseas).

Is there anybody local (L.A.) who would like to pick up a box from my house, and can do with them as they wish?

Lukas

That's a very generous offer.

That amazing book is the main reason I'm still going to hang onto my blue box, even after upgrading to the LLL release (of the first film).

Man, I'd love to have another one of those for preservation's sake (the spine on mine is a little loose).

I’d take a box and I’m local. Could put one book in a future Fans Of Film Music goodie bag for each guest that come, if allowed. smile

Make that two. I could really use a new book.

Lukas, why don't you have Screen Archives sell the book as a special item, or they could add a Superman book to every FSM CD order as a bonus to incentivize purchases.

Good idea, but it would definitely be in a "gray area" as far as our relationship with the licensor and we don't want to do that.

Also I don't want to pay to ship these all the way to Craig in Virginia!

But I'm happy to give them away.

SAE would be the ideal way to go, but who will bell the cat?

Yes. I, seriously, recommend that you do that, Lukas.

Heaven forbid that you give your remaining inventory to someone that will, later, sell it on ebay.

You’ve made your feelings on someone profiting off your work very clear on this thread you've started.

Very nice offer! I don't have the Blue Box, so I would have taken you up on it if I didn't live on the other side of the world.

Any chance you have spare copies of the booklet you wrote for the Arista STAR WARS box back in the 90s? Alas, the spine glue disintegrated only weeks after I got it in '95, so now it's all loose leafs.

Peter said,

Perhaps some of those copies can be donated to a concert-venue that may present the world premiere of a ‘Film with Live Orchestra’ concert-screening of SUPERMAN. Having that Blue Book along with a program booklet would be a cool memento.

Having your name, Lukas, on a ‘special thanks’ list in that program booklet would be just as cool.

I gave away one box. Unfortunately most of the inquiries I got were from people asking for individual copies. I would love to be able to distribute them, but I am not set up to send them out. I don't have mailing supplies at home and the books are quite heavy and expensive to ship (ridiculously so for overseas). So unfortunately this kind of backfired and I don't know what to do. I still have many boxes and would be happy to give those away...so long as somebody picked them up at my house.

Yeah, sorry - you got one of those inquiries from me. If I lived in L.A. I'd drive over and grab a copy.

It's unfortunate that the first pressing had so many print problems, which is why you are probably getting hit up frown

Hope you are having better luck with your film!

If anyone nabs these and wouldn't mind helping a friend, I'd like to request one or two. I'd obviously pay for shipping to TX from CA and any other needed fees. smile

Thanks in advance!

Hi Folks:

Bruce at Kritzerland has kindly taken a box of these Superman books and will send them out to people (if you pay postage). Hopefully you'll buy something from him too...? See www.kritzerland.com, write them through their site. Thanks!

Lukas
