Never heard a single second, but I am in - especially after all the comments here... Too bad autographed copies won´t be available (?).
Perhaps there is still hope for Universal´s REPO MEN as well...
The best parts of this score are the Main Titles and the finale. Revell would return for Bride Of Chucky, but that score is completely different to the big orchestral sound of part 2.
This is honestly one of my longest-running "Grails" since I saw the film on VHS during my initial flower of interest in film music in the early 90s, and hands-down the best thing Graeme Revell ever wrote. It will be mine...

You forgot to put "Graeme Revell" or "wrote" in quotes!

I wonder if the liner notes will go into that, because this definitely felt more like Shirley Walker WROTE it instead of just orchestrating/conducting it (and there's no other score in Revell's repertoire that sounds remotely like it). Or maybe it'll forever be a nebulous Poltergeist situation, where people have debated who "really" directed it since 1982.
Regardless, I'm THRILLED this is finally getting a legit release after that horrible-sounding b00tleg that has been floating around for years. It was one of the earliest memories I have of being bitterly disappointed a score didn't have a soundtrack release.
Oh wow! What a great surprise. This is a terrific, big, beautifully performed & arranged horror score. Similar to "Howard the Duck," a release of this score was always reportedly an impossibility, so it's great that it's finally getting a release!

Nice! Didn't see this release coming. I remember reading years ago on some thread here LLLR having zero interest in releasing this score due to there antipathy towards the movie. I wonder what changed their mind?
It's also interesting this get's announced the same day the remake is released on bluray and dvd. Coincidence?

I was talking with a Goldsmith Society member about Brad Fiedel's True Lies and he and I both felt Fiedel got a big assist from Shirley Walker on that...
