So... yeah... I wasn't going to buy this, especially based on the samples that first went up (never judge a score by its samples). But I saw the positive comments from other FSMers and I do tend to like Bill Conti film scores, especially orchestral and ones from the 70s or 80s. This is a real fun time. It's a mixed bag, with lots of different quirky styles. Dixieland jazz, quiet piano tender stuff, Rocky style brassy rhythmic/orchestral explosions, funk/disco and 70s detective suspense and snooping around stuff. But it all hangs together really well, due to Conti's impressive sense of drama and pacing. There's just over 30 minutes of the score proper, then 20 minutes of bonus material, that plays like a neat alternative score presentation. Anyway, it's really great stuff, if you don't mind more off-beat styled scoring. Hey henry, are you okay?
