THE BOYS---trailer released for Season 2. Amazon renewed the series for Season 3.

TRUTH SEEKERS---trailer released for the Amazon tv series starring Simon Pegg.

LINK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UY2iyLnNeCQ

STAR WARS: EPISODE IX---Colin Trevorrow commented on being fired by Lucasfilm and replaced by JJ Abrams for the movie that became THE RISE OF SKYWALKER, "That was just an experience that obviously you can imagine, as with all of these things, it can get to the point of being traumatic when there's something you care about that much and you've invested that much in it. But that’s one of the things you accept when you take on any role in film and especially when you become a storyteller: There are going to be heartbreaks, there are going to be crushing disappointments, there’s going to be victories, and hopefully they balance out in the end."
Trevorrow also displayed a spaceship model, the TIE Marauder, that he and his son designed for the sequel, "My son and I designed a ship, because we were designing ships. I have two ships – one of them is at the theme park, Disneyland, this is the other one. It only exists in this 3D model – it's called the TIE Marauder, and for Christmas the guys painted it for me. So I only had this in a 3D model, and this is the only one in the world. It's an amazing memory for me of when I got to do something that was an incredible experience from start to finish – I was able to make a STAR WARS ship with my son."

OUTER SPACE---Universal Pictures is in talks to acquire the untitled Tom Cruise outer space movie that features the team of Elon Musk and NASA. Doug Liman is the director.

THE STAND---director Josh Boone said the CBS All Access miniseries will be faithful to the R-rated content of the Stephen King novel, "[We] thought about like CLOSE ENCOUNTERS and the way those Spielberg movies felt in the ‘70s, and crazy Oliver Stone movies in the ‘90s. Kind of merging those things to tell this epic, dark fantasy. I think it’ll be really cool. The main thing we have going for us that the original didn’t have going for it is that we can really do it at a really high level in terms of the R-rated content and things like that which just weren’t possible then."

SHINING GIRL---Elisabeth Moss will star in the Apple TV+ tv series based on the novel about a time traveling murderer who preys on women.

OUTER BANKS---Netflix renewed the series for Season 2.

CHUCKY---Brad Dourif is returning as the voice of Chucky in the Syfy/USA Network tv series based on the horror movies.

STAR TREK: PRODIGY---Nickelodeon animated tv series about a group of lawless teenagers who discover a derelict Star Fleet spaceship.

THE LITTLE MERMAID---country singer Kacey Musgraves in reportedly in talks to play Vanessa, the human form of sea witch Ursula in the Walt Disney remake movie.

TRIVIA---SATURN 3 was a 1980 little-seen sci fi movie bomb about a libidinous, psychopath robot stalking a couple on one of Saturn's moons. The unusual cast included Kirk Douglas (SPARTACUS), Farrah Fawcett (CHARLIE'S ANGELS) and Harvety Keitel (MEAN STEEETS). The director was Stanley Donen (SINGIN' IN THE RAIN, CHARADE). Keitel's biographer said SATURN 3 was the "nadir of his career". The movie received three Golden Raspberry Award nominations, and has a Rotten Tomatoes score of 18%.

To be fair, i liked Saturn 3.
Especially held together and improved by Elmer's score.

The one thing that was odd - as Dragon says - was a rather old Kirk who looked like he was wearing a corset being swooned over by Farrah Fawcett. Not the best casting.

Directors and their children doing production design? This explains why there arent any cool or iconic ship designs in all the Disney Star Wars films and spin-offs.

A film where we saw a lot more of the old dude naked rather than the young leading actress.

George Lucas regarding the original design of the Falcon: "The problem with it was that it looked a lot like the Eagle Transporter from the TV series Space: 1999, so Lucas requested a change, telling the designers to think of a “flying hamburger” that could “sail like a sunfish”. "

https://screenrant.com/star-wars-millennium-falcon-design-george-lucas-changes/#:~:text=Though%20its%20look%20is%20very,for%20it%20to%20be%20changed.&text=The%20original%20design%20was%20used,One%3A%20A%20Star%20Wars%20Story.

Gene Roddenberry had plenty of design input for the Enterprise.

Don't dismiss designs out of hand because these guys aren't employed by SFX houses. Good ideas come from all over. And a director who doesn't have any idea what he wants his production to look like doesn't have much of a vision. Besides, the people who designed these iconic ships were kids once too...

As someone once said, no one hates Star Wars as much as Star Wars fans. You don't have to like everything, but I don't get the perpetual habit some people have of going out of their way to remind everyone that they disliked entries in the series.

It's an association thing, kind of like with Pavlov's dog. People are conditioned to feel the need to share their dislike, again and again as if it will somehow make their opinion more valid.

Then again, some people may jut want to express their opinion, without asking permission from some committee first.

They ended up adapting the design for the Rebel Blockade Runner seen at the beginning of ANH.

Yeah but after a point, isn't just beating a dead horse? Why not just change your user name to "I hate Disney Star Wars" and be done with it?

Dead horse or not is irrelevant. People, especially those who lay out cash for these things, are entitled to their opinion.

My opinion: people who continually lay out cash for something they don't care for deserve to be made fun of.

Second opinion: people who continually feel the need to vocally reinforce their opinions are not actually strongly attached to said opinions.

Yep. In a nutshell, and YOU don't get to decide for others. Why are so many people these days so fragile that they can't put up with opposite views. Very brittle, very weak.

It's a pissing contest. Just because you have an opinion doesn't mean it's more valid than anyone else's opinion. It just becomes a game to see who can scream the loudest and the longest.

Who's talking validity Mr. Johnonymouse86? Not I.

You are not the arbiter of what people can or cannot say. Nor am I. Full stop!

This is funny because:

"Why are so many people these days so fragile that they can't put up with opposite views."

You see the hypocrisy, no?

Bottom line:

If someone wants to lambaste Star Wars, ad nauseam, on this board that is of course their right, just as everyone who doesn't agree with them has a right to tell them to shove it. It has nothing to do with being PC or WOKE or fragile or whatever.

Yes, indeed! It is fully their right. Where did you get this notion that responding in kind wasn't ok? It is asking people not to express their opinions that I find weak, very weak. BTW, you're to one injecting the ideas of "woke" and "PC" in this exchange, not I.

I never said it wasn't okay to share an opinion, I think you're just assuming that. I was responding to Nicholas_DW's post:

"As someone once said, no one hates Star Wars as much as Star Wars fans. You don't have to like everything, but I don't get the perpetual habit some people have of going out of their way to remind everyone that they disliked entries in the series."

My original response was, in simplified terms, that continuously repeating an opinion does not make it fact, in response to the frequent criticisms that are leveled against Disney Wars, said opinions that some people seem to think repeating over and over again is going to...what, exactly? Change other people's mind? It's petty but I don't think anyone was saying don't do it...more along the lines of "god, not this annoying hot take again." It's just boring conversation and it doesn't really ever go anywhere. But, by all means, have at it.

I mean, look, I'm not a fan of Hans Zimmer but I don't feel the need to comment that on every thread about Hans Zimmer because I know nobody else really cares about my opinion on Hans Zimmer and I'm not trying to change anyone else's mind about Hans Zimmer. Maybe that's being, what was it? Weak? but I like to think it's avoid negativity in a world where there is already plenty of that to go around. Cheers!

I never claimed that repetition adds value to a statement, nor did I claim that such statements are interesting or amusing or informative. However, anyone who wants to chime in on any given subject can - and probably will - do so, without the slightest need to justify or the obligation to be pertinent or right. YOU and I are are cannot decide for third parties, regardless of how irritating, bothersome, or wrong the opinion may appear to be.

On the hand, YOU, I and others are perfectly free to respond, comment or ignore these "bothersome" opinions. Only people who have such liberty think they can afford to take it for granted.
