Manderley may be referring to a bad accident I had 20 years ago. Walking a block away from my apartment, I was hit by a car, thrown into the air, and was rushed to cedars sinai and in operations night and day for 5 days and nights. Passed away twice on the operqting table and brought back twice. in a coma for three weeks after that and in intensive care for five weeks. a horrifying experience. Met manderley when I first moved to L.A. I wish I could see him again. I have this theory that we all have an invisible end date stamped on our forehead, & if you haven't reached that date yet, well, you can survive anything. Mind you, on that date, you're a goner, just tripping over some carpet slippers will do it.

Over the years I have seen posts from the nearly departed members along the lines of: "Will some label please release (fill in the blank titles) before I am dead?" What are the film and television scores Joe Caps wishes to have out before it's too late?

I hit 73 in May. Question: What should I arrange for my score collection when I pass on? I haven't a single family member who loves film scores and songs. I have nearly 1,000 from Jolson's Plantation Act (1926) into the 1970"s and scores from Max Steiner's early RKO work up through some of the latest John Williams. I want to donate my collection to a person or institution where it will be appreciated and treasured, Suggestions? I'm nearly 69 and in a similar place, but as well as soundtracks I have thousands of books and magazines and no younger relatives.
