Greetings, PNJ. Last time we met I was standing at the bottom of the steps reminding you we only have a quarter for a turkey sandwich and cup of coffee, so meet me on Bagel St. or I can be reached at ALexander 22-22.

We released the complete score from OPEN SECRET on our PROJECT MOONBASE CD. It contains some tracks using themes associated with ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN. I spent a lot of time years trying to put together some discs of music from the other seasons of AOS, including working with Warner Brothers on it, and even City Hall so we could use the "Daily Planet" building on the cover. The rights were owned by a wide variety of companies, so it was a legal nightmare. Then somebody put out a bootleg and I lost interest in the project for a while. When I returned to it, the licensing fees had increased dramatically. Too bad, as it would have been an amazing series of releases.

The more I think about it, maybe Michael Daugherty's "Metropolis Symphony" and "Bizarro" are all the Superman music I really need.

Sad story! David, could you identify further scores from which pieces were taken for use in the first season?

Oh and hey Scott, speaking of the Yankees, can still see Mel Stottlemyre hitting his inside-the-park grand slammer off Bill Monbouquette of the Red Sox. Pretty sure it was a weekday afternoon game, am too lazy to look it up (1965?). Instant replay was an infrequent thing then and they played it back several times the next couple of innings. Ha, it was even before the days of "Pix Playback" if memory serves.

Damn that's waaaaay before my tenure glued to 11 Alive. I was a TV kid of the 70's. Thurman Munson was a name I heard most often and always thought it was Herman Munster.

In addition to the most welcome Varese edition, with the extended Main Theme, there have been a few other items to keep note of.

Way back in the late 1980s or early 1990s, there was a soundtrack seller in Brooklyn, NY, who advertised for sale all of the music from THE ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN on nine (9) cassettes, plus additional music from RAMAR OF THE JUNGLE on a tenth cassette. I did send for them and over time I transferred all 10 cassettes onto 10 CDRs. The cues were untitled, but fans of the show will recognize them.

CASSETTE
1. Season 1 - Volume 1 (14 cues) (46:35)
2. Season 1 - Volume 2 (26 cues) (45:14)
3. Season 2 - Volume 1 (29 cues) (41:41)
4. Season 2 - Volume 2 (30 cues) (43:12)
5. Season 2 - Volume 3 (18 cues) (43:10)
6. Season 2 - Volume 4 (22 cues) (41:18)
7. The Color Shows (66 cues) (47:20)
8. Alternate Cues - Volume 1 (23 cues) (43:13)
9. Alternate Cues - Volume 2 (18 cues) (41:31)
10. Ramar of the Jungle (31 cues) (42:51)

I forget who sold private CDRs of ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN about 15-20 years ago (Cover was a Vintage B&W TV). Something makes me think that it might have been Taylor White?
1. Season One (I missed this one - If anyone has an extra or wants to sell theirs, let me know.)
2. Season Two (34 cues) (66:30)
3. Seasons 3 & 4 (71 cues) (66:62) (Notable for brief cue 17: "Flying")

That's all I can contribute. Enjoyed the show so much as a kid. I do think that that Main/End Title music from The Adventures of Superman was one of the embers that lit a fire in me in the 1950s to love film and TV music. They argue about who wrote it: Leon Klatzkin or Jack Shaindlin. I'm in the Shaindlin camp. But who knows for sure?
