We are indeed totally on the same wave...
1. JERRY GOLDSMITH
2. JOHN WILLIAMS
3. LALO SCHIFRIN
This is my favorite trio since the beginning.
Their body of work between 1968>1982 I just couldn't live without.

Guess we would also share much enthusisam for Gil Melle, Fred Karlin, Morton Stevens, John Cacavas, Lee Holdridge early years, Billy Goldenberg, Oliver Nelson, J.J. Johnson, Quincy Jones, Henry Mancini, Stu Philllips, Ron Grainer, David Shire, Don Costa, Ernie Freeman, Walter Scharf, Isaac Hayes, Curtis Mayfield, Willie Hutch, James Brown, Solomon Burke, Roy Ayers and all the 70ies glories.

If you don't know these yet, I recommend an extensive visit of these 3 terrific Youtube channels, mainly dedicated on the 60ies and 70ies stuff:

On my list of unreleased Schifrin in his score for this TV movie (which must've cost Orion Television a fair bit (the only explanation for it getting a theatrical release outside the US - to make some money back)

Varese did release the great album Jean-Michel Bernard plays Lalo Schifrin.

Cheketeers Suite is my favorite track - a great blend of Che! and the Athos/Milady theme from The Four Musketeers, a personal favorite.

And particularly glad of the reminder of Gillespiana - haven't listened to that in forever. Also very found of his Jazz Meets the Symphony albums. And have to check out the Mass, don't think I've ever listened to that one.

But yeah, I'd love more of the 70's stuff, esp. Prime Cut and Charley Varrick most of all. I'm just glad we got a couple of cues from his anthology some years ago. Which is a great listen all to itself.

I have no idea 'why' these 2 movie scores have not been released . Maybe one day some soundtrack label will do us all a BIG favor and release a CD of each. Lalo Schifrin is and always will be one of the greatest film composers of all time . His jazz output is phenomenal .

What a shame this--and many other Schifrin scores--are unreleased.
