One thing I've always been confused about when I've seen it, and I notice it on the photo of the back of the CD on Intrada's site. It says "Music Composed and Conducted by Jerry Goldsmith" and then nothing next to "Theme from Summer Place" to indicate it's not a Goldsmith composition. What's with that?

Probably a space problem, I'm sure Max Steiner will be credited in the booklet.

Very disappointed over no opening trailers music.

We put the score for the entire MANT! short at the end of the Odyssey episode. It's not exactly what you're after, but it's close!

I wasn't referring to the Mant! score. I was referring to the music that begins as the atomic shockwave hits the tree and continues into the Lawrence Woolsey intro.

That music sounds too well-recorded and Goldsmith-y to be source music.

The MANT trailer music at the start of the film is assembled from snippets of music from the album “Themes from Classic Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films” conducted by Dick Jacobs, specifically these tracks:

“Monster Attacks” from CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON and “Main Title” from SON OF DRACULA composed by Hans J. Salter

“Winged Death” from THE DEADLY MANTIS composed by William Lava

“Stalking The Creature” from THE CREATURE WALKS AMONG US and “Main Title” from TARANTULA composed by Henry Mancini

“Visitors” from IT CAME FROM OUTER SPACE, “Main Title” from REVENGE OF THE CREATURE and “Main Title” and “Shooting Stars” from THIS ISLAND EARTH by Herman Stein.

To be frank, or even me, I don't want to listen to anymore cues that last less than 15 seconds. exclamation mark.

The music that opens the Mant! trailer is Henry Mancini's The Creature Walks Among Us -"Stalking the Creature".

I'm glad to finally learn that after all these years. Thanks for the help, gang!

Thanks to Stephen's tips, and Jackal's lament, I made an addition to the Odyssey podcast. For those who listened, the 'score' for MANT! was already there, but now, after it is the score for the trailer.

Oh, and if you want to know exactly what you're hearing, check out the almost always included track list:

Has no one else listened to this yet?

C'mon, it's fabulous. And the new mix is superb!

Played it a couple of times since it came, yesterday Playing it now. I usually slag off, to some degree, latter day JG efforts. This one, though, is the most enjoyable of the recent run. This maybe down to the fact that , I didn't get to know it as well as I should have. The mixture of styles doesn't spoil it, either.

Just listening to this now and really enjoying it. Not sure if it was mentioned before (and I haven’t read the notes yet) but you can hear some of his rejected Gladiator score in the track “The Big Knife”

Very cool.
