My thoughts exactly. When I think of an 8 disc $120 boxset at 3000 units, I'm thinking of something with widspread appeal. TFTC is by far the last title I'd guess as it is far too obscure to qualify for something of this magnitude. Seriously, I'm as big an 80's/90's score fan as anyone, but there is no way I'd drop that amount money on something as niche as this. I will be genuinely shocked if it is TFTC, but hey, what do I know. --- Widespread appeal??? Alan Silvestri Jay Ferguson Nicolas Pike Bruce Broughton J. Peter Robinson Michael Kamen Jan Hammer Michel Rubini Ry Cooder Joe Renzetti Michel Colombier Jonathan Elias Miles Goodman David Newman James Horner Cliff Eidelman Brian May Ira Newborn Craig Safan Bill Conti Brad Fiedel Sylvester Levay Just to name a few... That's a hell of alot more widespread appeal than 4 scores by Michael Kamen that sounds almost the same. If the release turns out to be Tales From The Crypt LaLaLand's got my Money. I'd also point out that Intrada managed to sell out 3 2-Disk sets from Amazing Stories at 3,000 copies. Granted, the composer selection, overall, in that series was probably a bit more high profile on average but it might still demonstrate proof of concept. As for Lethal Weapon, I think it's certainly within LLL's wheel house, but I'd expect to see it as a set of single film releases instead. Chris

There's no way Lethal Weapon 1-4 would fill 8 discs. No way at all. I probably would have said the same thing about Die Hard, and yet I have six Die Hard discs in my collection. Who knows how many alternates and/or Clapton/Sanborn/Kamen jam sessions there are, and if you throw in all the songs, it's certainly not outside the realm of possibility.

Yeah, the Ron Jones set (a much better deal at $150 for 14 discs rather than $120 for only 8) is certainly going to make any label reconsider large box sets for TV shows rather than individual volumes (yes, I know other licensing considerations went into the TOS box). At the very least I'd be shocked if a higher price point per disc were given to a less beloved/remembered show... I'm stubborn and still holding out hope that LLL will release the complete remaining (surviving) Korngold recordings in a box set, produced by Lukas Kendall. Maybe if it's not this Christmas (though MV's comments about hunting down every scrap of music makes it sound it's a project *like* this) it can still come out for some future Christmas... Yavar
