It's not going to happen. Intrada isn't releasing old Universal sountracks, only the albums (from UMG). The albums from the first two would make a very nice twofer release.
But UMG wouldn't license twofer releases. So that would be two short CDs. But better than nothing - especially with deluxe booklets and a track by track analysis.

They do. Intrada released a twofer Fox release licensed from UMG. But I'll admit I'm completely ignorant about how these things are done. I would imagine it's negotiated on a title by title basis.
Fantastic cover, I like this better than the sunken plane used for the final poster art! I'll use it for my ipod rip of the End Titles from the DVD!
In terms of score I'd love a complete Airport 1975 just to have the music for the scene on which Karen Black has to pilot the plane to avoid crashing in the mountains. Airport '77 is also one of my holy grails, great main title.
I'd love also a complete Airport and Airport '79 releases, of course, but the Cacavas scores are my favourite.
I'd cough up the dough for an AIRPORT box set simply because I don't have any of them on CD and would love to have them all. Throw in AIRPLANE! as a bonus, and we got a sweet deal there.
Caught these films last night on AMC and was reminded of how much I love the scores. '75 and '77 by Cacavas are my favorite of the sequels, but Schifrin's energetic and propulsive score for '79 is fantastic as well. Someday...
Newman's score for the original can never be topped IMO. 77's was okay though (it's also the best of the sequels filmwise, though it has to be seen in its expanded TV cut to really make sense).

Never say never, my friend.
Those three "Amazing Stories" sets didn't get issued off old Universal soundtracks, now did they!!!
In fact, any film music score by John Cacavas would be welcomed on my part. I don't know if anything else by him has been released besides AIRPORT 1975. He has done a lot of TV. Kojak music would be nice. A great 70's crime TV series.
I have always enjoyed Cacavas' HORROR EXPRESS, an original, memorable, and spooky score with a real sense of fun, available on the Citadel label, I believe.
Still my holiest of holy grails (along with Barry's The Deep). It's been a year or so since we've talked about this and I was wondering if there had been any breakthroughs with Universal in regards to licensing.....
