scarily west ham not finishd in the transfer market! meanwhile, leeds sign Billy sharp . and in other ironic news, the league cup round selects west ham v sheff utd. they promptly sued the hammers for 20m just for being drawn against them.

if they lose, perhaps shef utd wil get Sean worst actor in britain Bean to march on downing street again? This time we wil probably field 11 illegitimate players rather any inelligible ones. we play tottenham sat. peculiar openin fixture. 0-3 i suspect. with west ham stil on pre-season stroll mode.

TG's warriors take one on a late goal by the 1970s-sounding-player Billy Sharp as Leeds United win their first of the new season. Boro had a goal disallowed. Sky haven't put the highlights up yet so I can't comment. TG? Sky Sports gave a free day today so everyone who has a subscription to either Sky or Virgin Media could watch all the channels, including I'm happy to say the Leeds game. We were out in Harrogate in the morning so I picked up the game after about fifteen minutes. Neither side dominated except for short periods, Boro were unlucky to have the overhead kick chalked off, but it was a toss up whether Adomah's overhead put the ball or Stephen Warnock's head into the back of the net. The Leeds goal showed the benefit of having an old-fashioned goal poacher on hand. Instead of waiting to see what happened with the first shot, Billy ("the Fish") Sharp was already galloping in, so when the keeper (who'd already un-nerved himself) spilled the ball he was first onto it. A great win, not only because it was the first of the season, and not only because it was against Middlesbrough (who consider the game a local derby, even if we don't) but because it was Dave Hockaday's first managerial win in the Football League! From all accounts, The Hock earns £80k to £90k per year, where many Premier League players are paid more than that per week.

yes jimbo, even more annoying than a poster who has a second log on who converses with themselves to bolster their opinions, is that the hammers were against ten men for long period - against a very average tottscum team - and still couldnt come away with even a point. disgraceful. What chance against eleven men for the rest of the season? And allardyce comes on afterwards as usual with a stat or 4 to tell us we werent as bad as we had just seen with our own eyes and were unlucky. no, we have started as dreary and clueless as we finished last season. We are too static and one-paced up front and in midfield. its going to be a long season. Citeh one up! stuff that Pardew!!

yeah he hasnt been that impressive on world stage. then he got injured. so who needs suarez? is the daily mirror headline. as usual liverpool chalk up another win and no sign of our liverpool contingent?? perhaps they are discussing the validity of italian westerns on another thread?? so come on kev n thomas, whats the verdict? southampton give you a bit of a scare? The best are usually my favorites!!!?? chelsea tonight? costa debut. Cortois could start which might start a scramble for petr cech signature.

Results went as expected yesterday, but no team's been marmalised yet, in fact it's all very tight. A good sign for the season. yeh, cinemascope, results went as expected - west ham lost!! ha ha. so far arsenal livpl n citeh hav started business as usual. united losing and being as woeful as they were last season was a bit of shock given people thought under van gaal they would be a different team. Espec as the man is a genius! be interesting to see how Chelsea look tonight.

good to know you are both still alive!! thru my connections at leeds im hearing some scary stories of short sighted and ruthless cutbacks at elland road under the new mad regime, saving pennies but costing long term. Doesnt look good overrall, Tg. You hope these new football owners will rule with a bit of appreciation of history, sensitivity and common sense - doesnt appear to be happening in this case.
