Stevie G announces he doesn't want to play for Engerland anymore. Some might say that's 3 games too late...

I guess that means Liverpool should get another couple seasons out of him.

Also, Remy, Lovren and Origi expected to sign in the next 48 hours. I'm starting to lose track with all these comings and goings. Oh Luis, where art thouwink

Shame gerrard stopping for one reason alone. Surely it would have been better to stay on for two more qualifiers to fk beckhams outrageously false caps record, which included 20 gimmees as sub.
I can see he thinks liverpool in europe will be a tall order for him therefore internationals had to go, but two more caps, surely, in september and october, even if they sold it as "helping the kids transition" and he got two subs caps in qualifiers??
Annoyed now. Its a crime that plastic in his waistcoat got that many caps and basically contributed two free kicks and got us knocked out of three world cups.
Say it aint so stevie g, you are a better player than spite boy ever was so get the caps to prove it.

As much as a Stevie G. fan as I am--and I've said so in these football threads a number of times--during WC Brazil it looked to me like he didn't want to be out there on the pitch. In fact, imo he looked effing miserable. I saw that in a lot of the Three Lions players this time around. There was no fire, no passion, nothing. Subsequent articles--and quotes by the redoubtable Harry "I Destroyed Tottenham Because I Kept Thinking about the England Job"--Redknapp claiming that English football millionaires wanted to shirk their duties if given a call up to play for their country. Perhaps there is something to the poor infrastructure claims, for starters. If half of what Redknapp claimed is true, then English football truly is at a low point in its history. frown

Brazil to name Scolari's successor on Tuesday. One of the names mentioned is previous manager, Dunga *shudders*:

Maybe Gustavo can give us the "Our Man in Brazil" view on this?

Dunga's back, baby!

I've just watched the LFC v Roma game from Fenway Park that I taped last night (after midnight
kick-off in the UK = sleepy time for me). Good to see that cure for insomnia was found smile

yeah but i doubt they will be 7th place this year!!

8th maybe.

nah they will be back fired up and starting well. joint top by end sept and everyone talking about them winning the league.

before they eventually fade to man city and arsenal, probably.

expect arsenal to be stronger this term.
chelsea still a work in progress this season.
liverpool will be up there but will be weaker in the head to heads without suarez.

Didier Drogba re-signs with Chelsea. He never should have left in the first place.
