Looks like a combination of the Chico Hamilton & Elmer Bernstein soundtrack albums from Decca. It's funny because I was just saying that on the new Jerry Goldsmith Early Years cd, I thought The Line Up sounded a lot like SSOS. In any case, I've never seen this soundtrack on cd before. I wouldn't hesitate getting it. It's one of my favorites by Bernstein. If you see the name Cherry Red or El you don't need to be surprised. It will be mastered from the best available sources, i.e. LP. The Bernstein releases of the past year were brought to us by Film Score Monthly, Intrada and Varese Sarabande. How do you know that it wasn't on some label's schedule ? It appears, Onya, that this disc is using the Decca LP cover artwork with no insertion of the Verve logo. Not aiding matters, the Verve Label Group site offers no information accept how to subscribe to them. Sound is excellent, from the original tape masters. Certainly not an LP "rip" like all the various boots.
