I assume that's the remake film that's coming out this Friday, the 13th. Score by John Murphy, eh? I liked his work on 28 Days Later. Color me intrigued.

A brief blurb about that one was posted on the La-La Land site as well.
...and please, not too much space for music from the first three seasons, which are already pretty well represented when compared to the rest of the series...
putting together a 4-CD set for a 9 season series with 20+ episodes per season... well, that is a mammoth task! many many hours of music. if you need any help...
Would it (by any tiny chance) also be possible to include some of the missing music from the Fight the Future X-Files film? There are a few cues in particular that weren't on the score album unfortunately (for instance, the finale cue in Tunisia, or the film version of the 2nd part of the Pod Monster cue).

even it was the same music as on The Truth and the Light without dialogue that would work for me. Also the episode "Darkness Falls" would be one i'd like to see included from the first season. Also "Detour" from the fifth season and the list goes on and on, can't wait!
What is the status of this set? I grew up watching The X-Files; never missed an episode. I can't wait to get this set, it'll be like a trip down memory lane!

Last I've heard/read, the release will be sometime later in the year - possibly November. Of course, this is coming from one of the X-Files fan sites...

To quote:
"In this spring, La La Land records will release a 4 CD boxed set of the X-Files music from the TV shows only. It will have all the shows that I have been nominated for plus probably pieces from episode, I'm sure some of your favorites will be included."
Sorry. Maybe, though, an expanded CD of the score will be released in the near future.
"I Want to Believe" was hands down, my favorite score of last summer (next to Wall-E). Extremely underrated!
I have to agree. I did not appreciate the music at its fullest when I watched the movie(was tuning in too blindly on the x-files theme I guess) and I've been playing the score a lot now and it's growing on me.
I've always considered Mark Snow's music for x-files the series ahead of its time (certainly for tv) and he definitely raised the bar with that show.
