FIRST KNIGHT is on sale for $15! So if you add that to yourself order it lowers the price per cd. Plus you get one of Goldsmith's greatest scores ever!
. Since I have zero interest in some chants 80-90 % of which haven't even been included in the movie (just like those useless traditionals being pushed with every bigger Titanic set),
I dunno anything about TRL, but the "traditionals" (weird way of putting it) were in Titanic and all recorded specifically for the movie. I actually personally love that disc.
I am glad the late Mr. Redman was such a fan of this score and film. Nick could be a bit of a curmudgeon when it came to modern cinema; I once joked he didn't like anything made after 1975!
He has left a great legacy for all of us to savor! Brm
I have a question, which to most of you probably sounds stupid, lol. I haven't been invested in this score/movie, but I have always really loved "Journey To The Line" from the OST, and also seeing Hans performing it live two years ago in Oslo was like a dream.
But, where in this release would this track be? Is it actually a suite? Or just named differently in the Film Versions tracklist?

It’s “Attack on the Bivouac”
So envious that you got to hear it live!
Thanx! Wow, I see the film version is even longer! Great!
Yeah it was really amazing seeing it live! Even the simple backdrop with an acutal thin red line moving to the music was so captivating! Definitley the highlight for me!
But wait.... There isn't any THEME! It just drones on and on and on....
Actually, the backdrops for his 2016 dvd concert is a bit different than the "new" one he brought on tour in 2017. I liked the "new" one a bit better. The line is a bit more interesting, if that even makes sense! lol!
I still don't know, though, if it is on the new CD. It would be nice if someone from LaLaLand could confirm it.
Well if it aint we will always have theYT download of the SCORE. AS HEARD IN THE FILM
Don't worry, this cue is on this release, on the second disc and it's called "Witt Travels". There is also a sample of this cue on the LaLaLand site: https://lalalandrecords.com/thin-red-line-the/

The version of the tune that a lot of people are hoping for is different than its represenation in "Witt Travels" - although as mentioned above people are looking for that one as well. The other version (or at least one other version) asked about is this one:
I, too, hope that it could be included! (BTW - it was arranged by Klaus Badelt and could be heard on a promotional CD of his earlier music, before he branched out on his own. Sorry to be a hair-splitter...vee Tchermanns ah like zat! )
So this is NOT on this release?! Or is it just a slightly different version? What is on disc one for those scenes with Witt and the islanders? What about Witt and Welsh talk in the field where he says "I still see a light in you". Is that arrangement of the chant the film version and on the cd?
Considering the dozens of posts on multiple threads, requesting the aforementioned orchestral arrangements, it is inconceivable that LLL would NOT include them! Then again...
Thanks for posting that, Acathla. I really am happy that you enjoyed the concert. I'm sure I would have too! And I've never heard a live version (or any other version) of "Journey to the Line" ... I'm surprised to find myself saying this, but tbh I really don't like that version of the cue! Yikes. The solo string instrument early on (violin? erhu?) turned me off, but when that drum beat kicked in I couldn't stand it any longer. "Journey to the Line" is one of my favorite pieces ever written by anyone, so maybe I'm protective of its original incarnation or something, but that retooling just didn't land well with me. I'm all for reinterpretations of material or variations, but...not this one!
Netflix has his Prague version of Journey to the Line. It's an interesting take on the the with Johnny Marr. The percussion was the only part that I wasn't a huge fan of. I got to see it live in Denver but it wasn't quite as powerful as the Prague performance.

I think this version is also on the first CD called "Witt With Melanesians"
I agree with others, I might have considered this for just the two discs at around $30 but I don't think I will care for the vocals. From the samples the music is too simplistic even if it is more complex than the usual Zimmer work.
