Bit crazy, but I just read end titles, and some songs were by Joseph Williams... Maybe this songs also will be included? Like with The Fury...
That would be perfect and I’d consider this the definitive version of the soundtrack. As far as I know, none of the vocal songs were released. I always remember ‘American Girl’ from the scene where Lea Thomason’s character is introduced. *crosses fingers*
*edit: apparently I don’t remember the movie well despite seeing it dozens of times as a kid. This song plays when they sneak out to see the Shuttle.
I guess the 2026 edition will include the missing seven minutes, the source music, and the songs, as well as both album masters again. And any alternates and un-used scoring.
I don't get it. Why the anger all of a sudden? I missed all opportunities at this score and now I'll finally have the chance to rectify that mistake. I'm happy for this release as I am for everyone else who missed it.

I attribute it to frustration that Leaf changed his name to Joaquin.

Still waiting on Roger to confirm what “complete” means. Will it mirror what JWFan says is missing?

Same here. Never owned a previous copy so I'm thrilled to get this. It'll be $31 (or however much it is) well spent. One more magnificent Williams release with MM's touch.
For the unhappy, miserable folks out there who are upset with this release, the great news for you is that it doesn't cost you a dime to not purchase it.

Doug Fake has said that it is: "fully restored from new elements to its entire glory" which should address your concern.
BTW, I really enjoy the brassy rythmic ostinatos in the End Titles which remind me of Williams own 'Liberty Fanfare' This is a terrific 80's output marred only by a national tragedy.

I love this score, so it's a no-brainer buy for me. As a child of the 80's I really like the film too. It's a shame you can't find it on any streaming service.

Its on YouTube (someone posted the link earlier in this thread).
Theres also a KinoLorber Bluray. I think they're running a sale right now.
I think the movie's hamstrung by having special effects that would be terrific the film had been made by ABC as a TV movie or if it was an entry on The Wonderful World Of Disney (I know Disney didn't own ABC back then).

Theres a really good movie in there. I honestly think the two things I hold against it are
1.) That damned robot (ugh) 2.) Some of the SFX work looks super dated compared to others in the film or from films of that same era
(I'd also say that the way they get the kids onto the shuttle is lazy as hell writing.)

It truly makes you scratch you’re head and say…” Who Wrote this Shit?”
SpaceCramp was truly so inept. Would NASA allow kids to go onboard a fully loaded fuel up Shuttle, While Testing Engines! Are the folks who run SpaceCramp and NASA That Irresponsible Dumb Clucks? Who wrote this Shit? SpaceCramp is so unbelievable, truly a cringe worthy film. It was Produced by Leonard Goldberg (Charlie’s Angels, Fantasy Island, Hart to Hart, and let’s not forget about TJ Hooker!) and ABC Television. But it is John Williams music that is truly Beautiful and Awe Inspiring! Amazing score that I have listen to for many years.
In Orbit is truly out of this world…slowly Williams Music Builds up to this wide open Crescendo…truly one of Johnny T’s best moments.

That whole first half is a trial (compounded by a Kevin Smith-like quantity of Star Wars references). Also, agreed on the laziness of how the kids get on the shuttle, but once it launches, the film becomes a properly gripping thriller.

Agreed. This one cue is a master class in creating self contained classically structured pieces that also work brilliantly to enhance (or in this case create) the drama. Its even more amazing when you find that all that's happening on-screen is some bad zero-g pantomime from the actors. Williams completely makes that scene.

I’d love to hear this in the proper sequence. It’s a great cue. Look forward to this order tomorrow.
