Will the solo Murder By Death be limited?

I'm sure it will be.

Oh man, anyone who hasn't yet seen Murder by Death is in for a treat

Can't agree with you there. I think it's one of the worst films I've ever seen. So much incredible talent on-screen yet somehow they all signed up for what seems to be, for me, a rotten script.

I'll be interested to hear where the missing parts of the score were found. That's the third major recovery revealed this year, along with Alien 3 and Dracula.

spielboy who started this thread, can you put some info in your original post like the title names and/or a buy link so folks can easily and quickly find what titles they are smile

Might be better off starting a new thread. Otherwise, people might see the huge number of replies and think it's an old one.

I'll do one now.

I'll have to keep my eyed peeled to make sure I don't miss that.

You think this brilliant Neil Simon script is ROTTEN? I'm shocked. I thought this film was hilarious since the first time I saw it. It's pretty widely regarded as a classic. Are you sure you aren't confusing it with The Cheap Detective?

They are confusing!
Does not Falk imitate Bogie in both?

Nope. I remember seeing the film in the TV schedules, taking note of the cast, thinking 'that looks good - why have I never heard of it before?' and settling down to watch one evening. I was massively disappointed. It wasn't remotely funny, and, aside from the cast, it looked incredibly cheap.

You are the first person I've heard say that it is a classic.

This is not to criticise the score of course (I can't remember it) - I know it is much sought after.

Clue, on the other hand, is a film I am very fond of.

The only funny part was the ending where Capote eviscerates the authors for their literary failings. ...

I agree, that was only one of many funny parts.

"Then you must really be Sam Diamond."
"That's right, baby. I was in disguise, in disguise, in disguise."

Murder By Death opened June 23rd 1976.
Logan's Run opened June 23rd 1976.

Guess what theater I was in.

So, some 42 years later I'll finally get to MBD.

(and The Omen opened June 25th 1976)

Not familiar with 3 of the scores, and don't collect comedy film music, but I'll probably still order this unless it's too expensive for a blind buy.

You could until January and get them separately...

True but the bundle, which is $60, is suppose to be cheaper, so it sort of depends on how much they'll sell for separately. I'll play the sound samples first.

And why does it matter what genre the film is? It's music, not film.

Anyway, it looks like this isn't an actual box set, just a bundle of the three discs they are offering at a discount (?!? so they'll be more than $20 each?) for now.

Murder By Death!! Unbelievable. I really had given up on that one a long time ago. That's a wonderful surprise. There are so many instances these past few years where scores deemed lost surfaced unexpectedly. I will never say never anymore. Thanks a lot Varese!!
