Damn. I really want to be part of one of these but this is one of those times living in the arse end of the world sucks. 9pm your time (a great time to be drinking) vs 4.30am my time (not such a great time to be drinking).

One day I'll get some match fitness for a 4.30 am drink.

Enjoy yourselves and have one (or 5) for me.

I know what you mean, Rick. But as long as I'm hosting it, I need to have at least SOME wiggle room for drinks (let's say between 12 and 12), and there is not a lot of 'overlap' between Australia (Sydney?) and Oslo in that regard. Feel free to research possible time overlaps for the future!

Thor, are you combining this "session" with the maintitles.net group? Whatever, I missed the first hour or so of the last one because the bars have been open now for a few weeks, and I do like to pop in about 9. Not like the old days though, so I don't hang around long.

Yes, it will be combined. Due to their own wishes, there will be an exclusive Maintitles meeting earlier, and then we 'merge' at 21:00. I'll let you know if the start point gets earlier for FSM (if all the Maintitles folks leave early or something; I don't know).

Annoying to have family commitments the "day after", but I've been there myself many times. I manage to get through it somehow, hungover or not. You could always repair in the morning! wink

As Graham says, this is very different from Stephen's Zoom seminars on the other side. It's a "Cheers" thread! So I'll be heading down to the licor store for some supplies now; some specialty beers and a bottle of white wine. Need some freshness in this blistering heat we're having here. I'll let you know what the haul is when I get back.

OK, so here's today's haul. And this is JUST for tonight! wink

Adelaide.....so we're another half hour behind those Sydneysiders.

I'm already on my 6th beer here (9.30pm Friday night as I type) and I will be well and truly asleep by 4.30am.

If you're talking 12pm - 12am for your window.......2pm Friday for you would be around 9.30pm for me. That kinda works.

Anyway you guys - enjoy the night.

Yes, enjoy the rest of the evening, Rick. We'll find some time that suits you better in the future.

Man, drinking and mixing so many different beers would give me THE WORST headache in the morning (the Tuborg looks nice, but cans!!!).
I only have to switch from one to the other, on a night out, and it bothers my brain.
I like to keep to the same beer, and then, when I've hit my beer limit, transition to a spirit (always straight, with ice) to smooth out the rest of the night.
I'm going for a nice walk along the beach (Waterloo & Crosby), with the missus, in an hour or so, pick up a few items in a supermarket, then settle down AND GET HAMMERED, celebrating my glorious LFC climbing back onto THEIR perch!! Suck That Purple Nose Fergie!! smile

You have a nice wee shandy, Kev. It's not every day that Leeds Bowling Club scores a Hole-in-one. And don't worry about us here mixing our drinks. Mixing is the essence of a good cocktail, and we all have a bottle of Irn Bru in the fridge for the next morning, just in case our mums put weedkiller in something, to teach us a lesson.

For the mathematically challenged among us, I am guessing that 21:00 Norway time is 4 pm EST?

Onya... Why play thick? Let the mathematically challenged work it out for themselves.

Absolutely everything is inside the computer. I just typed in, "What time is it in Calcutta when it's 2 pee-ehm in Kirkintilloch?", and - after correcting my spelling mistakes and asking, "Do you mean...?', a robot said, "The time difference between...". They must have an entire atlas in the computer, and an abacus.

You realize you could have typed "yes" or "no" in far less time than it took you to spell "Kirkintilloch?"

Ah, but I didn't check the answer for the places you wanted.

I'll see if I book a cheap flight to Kirkintilloch so I will know when I am.

Yeah, tomorrow will be rough (for my stomach, not my head), but I would go absolutely nuts if I could drink only one type of beer for a whole evening (and especially if that beer was either pilsner, stout or weissbier). I need the variety.

You're welcome to join, btw, if you're so inclined. It's been, what, 7 years since I saw your mug in Vienna?

EST....that's like New York and stuff, right? If so, that would be 3 PM. This one is always useful:

Thanks! Is 3 PM kosher for FSM, or do we need to wait 45 minutes because of the other group?

No, no. It's perfectly 'kosher'. The meeting with the other guys starts two hours earlier, and I've told them that at 9 PM, Maintitles and FSM will 'merge'.

How long is this going to go? I am still working, but I can try and jump on later.
