Any tantalizing hints??

Well, it was almost exactly a year ago that this new series was announced with the first release of Hour of the Gun complete. If the approximate release frequency is one every six months (and with Christmas coming up) I'm expecting an announcement from Tadlow or Prometheus very, very soon on whatever exciting title Lokutus was at the sessions for...that is, unless there's some delay (ie. mastering/notes/packaging took longer than expected).

More so than LLL's excellent Black Friday titles, moreso than the only Varese Club batch of the year, and moreso than whatever great stuff Intrada or Quartet or Kritzerland have up their sleeves....THIS is what I'm freaking out about for Christmas...

Tadlow/Prometheus should release new album very fast...

I want to have this in Poland before Christmas...

They should give us some promotional videos...

For me, this new Tadlow/Prometheus is the most important release in this year....

More important to me, than any other label release...

Awesome. Great to have some official word -- I can't wait! Really surprised at the relative lack of excitement...

So, what does it say?

Apparently, you have to have a Facebook account to read it and, yeah, no.

I figured that, therefore I wrote the quote itself.

Keep in mind that this may not necessarily be a Goldsmith score. But whatever it is, it's 95 minutes.

How would the excitement you expect manifest itself? We know nothing about this CD, other than that it will exist shortly. What could we be saying about it?

Really?

People say all kinds of things about non-existent and future-existent CD's on this board. big grin

Yeah, look how much discussion ensues whenever another Varese batch is imminent with us knowing even less...and until this past year those were more frequent than new re-recordings, which are now pretty much a dying breed. I'm just saying it's a real event when we get another new one so I would've expected a bit more anticipation expressed...

There's been a fair amount of talk in recent months that we might not be seeing any re-recordings from Tadlow or Tribute anytime soon, due to the expense, problems with recouping costs and whatever.
So I think the very positive news that we have a new re-recording imminent (and couple more to follow) is something very exciting... or at least, exciting enough to spark the wild guessing and hoping that usually accompanies any hint of an upcoming announcement.

There's no guarantee it's a Goldsmith, so I'll be hoping for... The War Lord, to end Moross' centenary year on a high, perhaps with another Moross in a 2CD set.
But for one score at 95 minutes... how about Golden Voyage of Sinbad?

I have a hard time believing it's a Goldsmith score if the score itself is 95 minutes long. Tadlow/Prometheus have been focussing on Goldsmith scores that cannot be ordinarily expanded due to lost master tapes etc... and the only Goldsmith scores that I can think of that might be close to this long are his 80s/90s which don't fit the mandate. In fact the only thing that I can think of that might possibly qualify might be a full re-recording of Legend, maybe if the 95 minutes includes alternates.

I suspect this is probably a re-recording of something along the lines of Quo Vadis... an epic Golden Age score from a high profile and popular composer. Basil's suggestion sounds plausible, for one example.

Chris.

What if it's QB VII?

Good call, I'd forgotten about that one. That's possible I suppose...

Hmmm... the 2CD (and really terrible-sounding) Digitmovies SODOM AND GOMORAH is around 95 minutes long, if one excludes the bonus alternate takes. Coincidence?
If any Rozsa epic score is in need of a re-recording, it's this one.

If the 95 minute score is by Goldsmith, QB VII seems most likely. If it's not by Goldsmith (S&G sounds like a great candidate, as does The War Lord for the Moross centenary!) then the *other* two scores by a different composer that James alluded to in a later reply are almost certainly the continuation of the Goldsmith series, and my money is on a Black Patch / Face of a Fugitive twofer!

What other non-Goldsmith scores clocking in around 95 minutes might warrant a rerecording?

How long is Spartacus?

Could be several scores by Moross.

I'm resisting the temptation to open up a new thread simply entitled, "There might be a CD coming out next month" and see how it takes flight. :-)
