I don't think it's been mentioned specifically (apart from FoxMorty's list of episodes he'd like to hear music from) but I love a certain bit of music in Season 1's "Young at Heart", (which I like to refer as The Talented Mr Ridley). It's the scene where Scully is typing up her casefile on the computer and the guy with the salamander hand is in the room with her sneaking in the shadows, but they are both interrupted by Dr Ridley knocking on her door.

Would love to see this piece on one of the future soundtrack releases

In fact the entire "Snow Trax" podcast, now stopped though, is full of Mark Snow gems, with what can be done by recording directly the episodes and attempting to clean the sound.

Hey MV and Michael at LaLaLand Records. Can you give US an update on the second Volume of the X-Files?

Will it be out there before the End of the 1st Quarter of 2013?

I think last we had heard, it had been bumped to the 2nd quarter of 2013 due to other releases being bumped to 1Q 2013.

It's due July 30, 2013, according to a fan who wrote to Frank Spotnitz's "Big Light" site.
http://biglight.com/blog/more-x-files-music-coming/

Let me alert fellow fans that the first volume contained a major error in sound quality. The track "A Synopsis and Release" from the Season 9 Doggett focussed episode "Release" has a high pitch whine and lots of static. You have to turn up the volume to hear it, but it's there and, as much as I appreciate La La Land and especially Mark Snow's work on this, I hope this never occurs again. I'd actually love a re-release of the track all fixed up on another set.

Mv addressed that in another thread a few days ago. The date isn't set in stone quite yet.

I just listened to this track and didn't hear any audio problems. Maybe you have a bad disc. Have you contacted La-La Land about this?

I didn't hear it but I could be tone deaf. Where is it at on the track? Are you listening through iTunes or WMP?

Frank Spotnitz:
"More “X-Files” Music Coming

Just wanted to pass along for fans that La La Land Records will be releasing a Volume 2 of X-Files music, planned for July 30, 2013. Just received an e-mail this morning from them but no further details were provided."

Yup. Didn't even look into it. Didn't offer a replacement disc. Just assumed I was wrong. I also talked to a fan all the way in France and they had the same issue, so it's not just me. You have to boost the volume a lot and listen carefully -- like it's your favorite track and you can't live without knowing every bit of it -- but you can totally hear it. Ear phones help, too, but I could hear it from my stereo.

It's from the physical CD. I can hear it in the car, from my stereo, from itunes, and especially from my ipod. I've never had great hearing. Lots of fans will hear stuff on Radiohead and U2 CDs like "clipping" that I won't. It's throughout the track, but you can hear it more during certain moments.

The high-pitched whining is very audible, going in and out at 1:57-2:20, but is there throughout.
The static is especially audible when the harp starts at 3:52

I love the piece because it's about how Doggett finds out what happened to his son. It means a lot to me.

Hope there's a Volume 3 because there's no way all the music I love is on here even from many episodes already covered. Something tells me that there will be another set because the Scully abduction 3-parter "Duane Barry"/"Ascension" are not here and MV said "Duane Barry"'s music would be included.

Wonder why the times are near 74 minutes or 76 minutes and not 79:59 to include more pieces. Episodes like "Musings of Cigarette-Smoking Man" have lots of extremely beautiful short pieces around 1 minute.

Also, not every CD has to have the main theme; it's a waste of space in place of new music; at least, include unreleased versions of the theme like from Seasons 3 and 5.

Nevertheless, very excited about this.

with a little luck if a volume 3 were to occur maybe we'll get the music from the specials over more main title renditions. just adore the main theme to the first one, secrets of the x-files. so synthy!

Especially long discs can cause problems for some CD players. There's also anecdotal evidence that suggests they're more prone to developing playback faults.

I'd read that, but thought La La Land Records didn't believe in that because its "Battlestar Galactica" CDs consistently reached the limit of disc space.

I'd rather err on the side of caution for sound quality. Thanks.
