You may have heard, or will be hearing, rumblings about the thieves at Harkit issuing a CD of Goldsmith's Sebastian.
We had major problems with Harkit releasing pirate versions of Bell, Book and Candle and Klute before we did the official ones, and we had to have lawyers stomp on them to keep them from pirating The Man From U.N.C.L.E.
Anyway, if they do something with Sebastian, DON'T BUY IT.
Can't say any more -- it's not us working on a license -- but you would be VERY SORRY if you spent money on Harkit's inane vinyl transfer and then saw what was subsequently released for real.
Get it?

I shall do as Lukas asks as the man has never turned me wrong.
However, whats the story with Harkit? Can someone fill me in? Are they one of those "grey area" bootleggers from overseas?
Depends where you consider overseas is !.
They're based in England, where I live.
As far as I'm aware they don't do anything that's illegal in Europe.
Aside from the matter of LP transfers, they've just issued Return From The River Kwai. This was produced by James Fitzpatrick, who heads up Tadlow (which brought us El Cid).
The biggest issue, of course, being that they don't pay anything to the owner.
They just transfer an old LP to CD...

I too live in UK and don't dispute that some of their releases are legal and of good quality.
However, many aren't. They ran into problems with the Dudley Moore estate regarding their releases of Dudley's work. Their release of 'Bedazzled' is very poor to my ears.
The four recent John Barry releases are LP transfers, unlicensed from the owners and they don't pay John Barry any proceeds for his work.
They also make legitimate releases of the music in the future, more difficult.
It's theft and can't be justified.
Just avoid Harkit unless you're really sure the release is legitimate.
I challenge Harkit, who sometimes lurk here, to post and dispute what I say.

I believe a few of their titles ARE legitimate: they released CDs of TOUCHING THE VOID and THE PAROLE OFFICER.
