As for the Waxman titles Sony Music has decided to not do deals any more with all the labels so it does throw a monkey wrench into some plans. Hopefully things will change. We'll see

Do you mean Sony decided not to do WAXMAN deals or ANY deals with the labels? Does that mean THE THIN RED LINE is one of the last Sony Classical collaborations?
Yes. We have 2 major projects pending but other than that the other titles we were looking into and/or started some work on were scrapped. The letter went out to all the labels

Pity. I hope those 2 major pending projects are Last Action Hero and True Lies!

And I truly, truly, truly hope for an expanded edition of The Mask of Zorro. It's one of my final grails.

Probably something you can't answer, but did Sony give a reason why they broke off collaborating with specialty labels?
It certainly can't be disappointment in quality or presentation (at least with LLL). Titanic and Bram Stoker's Dracula are among two of the most meticulously and beautifully prepared multi-disc sets I own, and The Thin Red Line looks to be just as impressive!
Any chance the Richard LaSalle score from Irwin Allen's 1971 City Beneath the Sea could get a release? If the source materials survive, naturally. It's very similar to his Land of the Giants scores with a really good main theme and all those great Planet of the Apes references we love so much!
Nope
Bummer! Would have been a great addition to LLL's growing Irwin Allen catalogue! Lost in Space, The Poseidon Adventure, The Land of the Giants, The Towering Inferno...

Does this suggest they are planning on releasing soundtracks directly? Also frustrating is Sony has bought out many smaller companies with rights to many lesser known (ie non-revenue generating) soundtracks they'll never bother to release.

Sony is pulling back into the old days,eh? I hope that doesnt inspire others like Warner to follow suit.
I second all three. Hopefully SONY will let the other labels have a grace period to finish things.
Zorro wouldn’t be more Intrada territory. Doesn’t matter anyway if Sony is cutting ties with everyone.
Sounds like we were lucky to have gotten Titanic when we did.
Unless that letter stated that Sony has decided to release expanded content themselves, but honestly I don’t think anyone here would be holding their breath on that.
When it comes to Disney..would be nice to see something from their live action seventies stuff like STRONGEST MAN IN THE WORLD..THAT DARN CAT..ONE OF OUR DINOSAURS IS MISSING..TREASURE ISLAND.....THE LOVE BUG ..THE CASTAWAY COWBOYS..SUPERDAD etc. Would be fun!!!.so many

Did they, by any chance, mentioned why they're putting the brakes on all those future projects?

That's all Intrada's territory.
Regarding Sony, it could be they're not interested in releasing CD's anymore. MV has pretty much stated that's the attitude of these companies nowadays.
