The FYE used CD and DVD store - Lakeforest Mall - Gaithersburg, Md.
1. DRACULA by John Williams.....$7.99
2. CONAN THE DESTROYER by Basil Poledouris.....$7.99
You know I grabbed these. The girl at the cash register snickered at the titles. Screw her....
Invite her home to some Horner - Girls just love his LEGENDS OF THE FALL, BRAVEHEART and TITANIC.
On a side note i'm listening to Tjakowski's Symphony 3, 4 - scherzo - it does have something that reminds me of Dvorak and..... something that could be filmmusic.
here in Manhattan at the 49W 45th street on 6th Avenue discovered a used cd and book store (Book Off) with a great soundtracks section and got the following at $7.00 each:
TAXI DRIVER- Herrmann BACK TO TITANIC- Horner LAURA/BAD & THE BEAUTIFUL- Raksin/ Gerhardt A VIEW TO A KILL- Barry (Remastered) GREAT FILM FANTASIES- Kunzel (sealed) STAR WARS- SHADOWS OF THE EMPIRE- Joel Mcneely JARRE BY JARRE- Maurice Jarre ($1)
"Le Dernier Metro, La Femme D'A Cote" (Deleure), found in a box in our 'junk room'.
Listened to it 7 times over the weekend... realized what a gorgeous 2 scores it is after apparently dismissing it years ago. I had listed it on ebay and am glad there were no takers.
I just came from Academy Records a half-hour ago. Somebody must really need cash, right now. I just saw the following limited edition titles in the used CD bin:
Intrada: Cohen & Tate $12.00 Brotherhood of the Bell $15.00 National Geographic: The Explorers: A Century of Discovery (Lee Holdridge) $12.00
FSM: Between Heaven and Hell $12.00 Cinarron $15.00 Above & Beyond (sorry, I didn't write down the price, but I imagine it be no higher than $15.00)
Preserervance: The Believers $15.00
I picked up these two LA LA Land titles: Eraser $10.00
and...
...wait for it
Innerspace...for... $14.00
...and, yes, I have a copy already, so, I will use this as a trading chip

Someone in my area (Portsmouth NH) has been trading in a lot of very nice soundtracks at the local mall. Several Bond titles, and some new stuff too. I almost picked up La-La-Land's Creepshow this weekend, but haven't convinced myself that I need the bonus tracks yet.
