It was one of those things I couldn't let go of. Happy to scratch that one off the list and glad it's out there now for people to enjoy.

I got my copy in about 4 days from LA to the Bay Area.
The set was packaged three layers deep in bubble wrap, cushioned mailer, and USPS plastic envelope.
Thank You La La Land for protecting your shipments so well.

Finally received my copy. I'm delighted with the selection of this volume! It might be my favorite with volume 2.

But I must express a fairly big disappointment regarding the packaging. I'm not talking about the lack of Hard cover sleeve. This doesn't bother me. What I'm talking about is how the front cover was shamefully squeezed vertically to fit in the non-square format of the 4CD jewel case. It wouldn't have taken much effort to extend the visual without distorting Mulder and Scully along with the logo (Look at the circle that's now oval!).

I'm sorry if I sound like a party pooper. I'm still happy to own this collectible. And maybe a lot of you don't even care about presentation that much. But as a collector and a graphic designer, this really hurts my eyes and doesn't look like the work of a professional.

I got my copy and it's great all around. I did notice with the Merchandise track there's a glitch at the 2:10 mark which sounds scratchy for a lack of a better word. The disc looks fine visually and I've tried it on two players. Does anyone else experience this with disc 3, track 3?

I’m super envious! Mine’s been stuck at the LA international distribution centre for the past two weeks. Sigh.

The Package arrived on 23rd december - right in time to beone great christmas present. wink

This set is as amazing as volume 1 to 3.

Many requests from us fans (me included) are included plus tracks that are terrific but were not that obviously to recognize during the episode for one reason or the other.

But as some other board members stated, there are some requests more that could / should / would be covered on a fifth volume smile

Holly cow! Thank you so much for this.

So with 4 volumes (each a 4 disc set) we only have 8 episodes (9 tracks) on Vol 4 that are were previously covered in the earlier volumes. It's great that we've got these new additions alongside all the other episodes in Vol. 4 previously not covered.

That's a pretty good achievement in my book!

Finished my first listen through yesterday, great set.

Thank you again very much to LLL Records, Mike, Neil and all involved for making this fourth volume happen. Best Christmas surprise by far, and I've been enjoying listening to this box very much! Package is also great as usual (I don't mind it not coming in a cardboard box, the music is the most important thing).

And thank you as well for allowing us the chance to list some of our favourite material, and including it on the set. Too many highlights to list, but I'd like to try anyway: the selections from "Darkness Falls" and "Apocrypha" are terrific to hear apart at last. And especially some of the separate cues are such a joy: "Base Camp" (almost an X-Files-take on Airwolf!), "Chimera Man" (the opening strings and the first statement of the trek theme are fantastic), "Fix It for Good" (surely one of the best intimate piano moments of the show), the extended version of "Scully's Serenade", and so on.

There are two further cues that I'd like to single out:
- "Smoking Telegram" is a cue that I've wanted to hear separate from the film since its original release, so many thanks for going through the trouble to find the missing elements. It sounds terrific!
- Unsurprisingly (since I requested this cue), another highlight of the set for me is "Thor's Hammer". The first half in particular is terrific, featuring the climactic version of this theme from "Triangle". The opening minute is difficult to hear in the episode, and it makes the cue even better than expected. It was a terrific decision to also include "Ghost Dance": the (also difficult to hear in the episode) music at the beginning is great, and the big treat is that this also includes the prologue material. And finally, "No Place like Home" is that other very memorable piano cue of the series.

@Neil, I also have a question about the unreleased cues from The X-Files Movie: if I remember correctly, the second part of "Pod Monster Suite" on the soundtrack is unused in the film, and is replaced by a more orchestral cue. It is heard when Mulder & Scully escape from the monster and spaceship. (This is now the remaining highlight of the unreleased material in my opinion!) I don't recall this being in the list of material that was not found at the time of the release, nor was it part of the cues that Mark Snow nixed.
Would you have more information about the cue that appears in the film?

As promised, here is an overview of music that appears on the original soundtrack "The Truth & the Light" that has not yet been released without dialogue/SFX on any of the LLL volumes:

OST 18, from The Erlenmeyer Flask: features in the chapter “Pandora’s Box” on the DVD. This is a great cue which will hopefully be released separately without dialogue at some point.
OST 11, from Ghost in the Machine: from DVD chapters “Wilczek’s Fear” and “An Unexpected Call”. Most of this has dialogue over it on "The Truth & the Light", unfortunately.
OST 11: 2:12-ending, from the prologue of Duane Barry
OST 20, first part (composed by Jeff Charbonneau esp. for the CD?)
OST 1 (music by Jeff Charbonneau esp. for the CD?)
OST 7, from Gender Bender: this is from the episode's finale
OST 6, from The Calusari: cue appears in the DVD chapters “Blood Rites” & “The Only Way”
OST 9, second part, from Oubliette (the second part appears in the DVD chapter “Escape Attempt”, this part also has some SFX over the track)
OST 08 first 30 seconds, from Roland: see DVD chapter “An Investigation”
OST 16, from Shapes: prologue music of the episode. The ending might be different though (maybe that's taken from the second murder in the middle of the episode).
OST 15, from Humbug: contains material from three different cues
OST 5, from F. Emasculata (from DVD chapter “Evidence of an Outbreak”)

Besides this material, there is still a significant amount of music on my wishlist as yet unreleased (both from episodes already featured and from episodes not featured on the volumes yet), so as others have already mentioned, I hope this volume 4 will also be a success and there will be some possibility for LLL to continue to release music from The X-Files!

Meanwhile, more than enough new music to savour, of course. smile

Funny, I was just going through "The Truth and the Light", but fommes beat me by a few hours with his post!
Here's what's on the "The Truth and the Light" in comparison to the four LLL releases:

1. Introitus: Praeceps Transito Spatium (Død Kalm) (credited to Jeff Charbonneau)
otherwise unreleased sound design, then at the very end we hear the beginning of:
Ghost Ship (LLL4, Disc 1)
2. Materia Primoris: The X-Files Theme (Main Title)
The X Files Main Title (remix) (LLL1, Disc 4)
3. Raptus (Pilot)

(without the additional cello line from the earlier release)
Reanimation (LLL1, Disc 1)
5. Deverbero (F. Emasculata)
otherwise unreleased
6. Cantus Excio (The Calusari)
otherwise unreleased, hardly any dialogue or SFX
7. Mercutura (Gender Bender)

most of:
Sweeper (LLL1, Disc 1)
9. Insequi (Oubliette)

13. Progigno De Axis (Nisei)
excerpt from:
Rail Song (LLL1, Disc 2)

Eaten by Light (LLL2, Disc 2)
18. Fides Fragilis (The Erlenmeyer Flask)
otherwise unreleased
19. Exoptare Ex Veritas (Oubliette)
Only Way to Escape (LLL4, Disc 3)
20. Kyrie (Grotesque) (credited to Jeff Charbonneau)
0:00-1:23 otherwise unreleased (not in series)

Over 20 minutes of music from "The Truth and the Light" have not yet been released by LLL. Thankfully some of the music appears without SFX or dialogue on the original album.

Is there really more unreleased music or was this taken from somewhere else or mixed differently?
