It's time for all responsible countries to go back on the gold standard.

And let the Socialists lay about and perish.

I certainly agree that "Germany cannot become Europe's Paymaster."

I'm sure Germans and other members of eurozone are angry about Greeks. Slovakia enters eurozone last year and now we have to contribute to Greece (average pension in Slovakia 340 eur, in Greece 1700 eur).

Well, 'the people' should be more than angry because Greece even cheated their way into the EURO by manipulating their numbers and the politicians knew about it back then !!

I say that in return for the interests on the loans to Greece, all other European residents get to vacation there for free for the next decade! Who's with me? big grin

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe the US has contributed one cent to the Greek crisis. This has been mostly a collective EU rescue plan. So no, Yank, ya gotta pay for your holiday, I'm afraid!

Well, that's good then. One country deep in debt helping out another.

I'm not sure how much GB counts, as they're already US' sidekick.

With any luck, those days have gone.

Congress blocks indiscriminate IMF aid for Europe
http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/finance/ambroseevans-pritchard/100005734/congress-blocks-indiscriminate-imf-aid-for-europe/

The "deal" to safe the Eurozone isn't worth the paper with the signatures on it. In the end, there will be no country that is willing to actually pay anything. More fascinating times coming around the corner now.

Here's some food for thought:

Yes the "deal" just puts it all off for three years, when Greece will then owe even more, but it does give the money-men time to get out. Gordon-Bloody-Brown sold most of our gold cheap years ago!

The more I read about this mess, the more I think Germany ought to get out and be their own boss.

funny...didn´t they try this two times already???

Gordon-Bloody-Brown sold most of our gold cheap years ago!

So did the Swiss National Bank on behalf of idiotic politicians, and the gold that hasn't been sold has been loaned out to others. In other words, it's gone, too.

Apparently, the Chinese tried to get some of their gold back into their country. When they verified some of the gold bars they found tsungsten in it.

Fake Tungsten Gold Found
http://news.goldseek.com/GoldSeek/1267541820.php

Why Tungsten?

If anyone were contemplating creating “fake” gold bars, tungsten [at roughly $10 per pound] would be the metal of choice since it has the exact same density as gold making a fake bar salted with tungsten indistinguishable from a solid gold bar by simply weighing it.
