Straight from the Department of Why Does This Exist? comes...
In 2005 a remake series was attempted, but failed, not even lasting half a season. Starring Ving Rhames, the show only had superficial similarities to the original: the lead is named Kojak, the lead is bald, the lead sucks on lollipops (a trade mark thing even in the original series w3as dropped about halfway in and even then wasn't done that often), the lead wears a hat..

Snow scored all the episodes. Mark Morgan scored with him, but did not receive credit (on perhaps just the pilot). If you are a Snow fan, then you already know what to expect.

NOTE: All loads are in French. Some alternative English loads are included, when found. Some in German. Yeah, I had to find loads here and there.

Attention readers: I have been implementing a system that is nothing more than a note to myself; for cues that I want to include in a suite one day, for now on I will denote them with ^ symbol. It has no special meaning to anyone else but myself. No, the lack of an up arrow symbol doesn't mean the cue is bad (it just may have too much SFX or FX for suite use or just isn't worth my time to edit and include). Hence forth this system will be in all future threads and pre-exiting threads that I go back to for missed episodes. Anything in ( ) are just notes to the arrow and you need not bother with that. The system does not mean that I will make a suite or that one has been made, it's simply for my own reference if and when I do decide to.

Special note to the acting of the man playing the inmate in this scene.

And that was that -- currently -- for Kojak. No more remakes, no revisionings, etc. But plans are afoot for more Kojak:

Somewhere around 2012 it was announced Vin Diesel would star as Kojak in a movie version, which the writer (Philip Gawthorne) said would be "Kicking all kinds of ass". Phillip was himself a replacement writer for Neil Purvis and Robert Wade, who wrote an earlier draft. Vin commented once he wanted Ang Lee for director. As of 2015 it was supposed to still be happening, but I can't find any updates since. A 2022 news report on IMDb simply reported old 2012 news, even citing the replaced writers, suggesting a poorly researched and written article.

And I did look around, but during my search I didn't find any talk of failed pilots attempts that never got filmed, or were forgotten, so at the moment no one loves Kojak, baby.

Nothing from BMI and ASCAP. Any composer that might have been from this remake series, is probably accidentally listed under this part in the thread for the original series.

As usual, there has been, of course, no release of the show's scoring. No known promos either.
